Mascara Baby [NSFW]

is all life equal? do all lives have worth? is abortion wrong when god has already let countless infants die in the womb since the dawn of i don’t know what? you look at the news and see babies in garbage bins. you look at history and see babies on bayonets. you look at beauty pageants and see babies with mascara. sometimes there is arrogance in motherhood, and not all motherhood leads to wonderful things.

  1. So true…I’m actually more worried about the child with mascara, scary stuff that it’s OK and accepted to pimp out your kid…the world is sad…some people will argue dressing up your child like a doll and putting them on stage is all in good fun but you if you have ever caught even 5 mins of toddlers and tiaras there is something really creepy about it.

    1. i really couldn’t have put this better myself. i find this kind of objectification of children quite distressing. they should just be allowed to be children while they can, free from the poisonous nonsense that ultimately teaches them to exploit others (and themselves for that matter) in order to get ahead in life.

  2. still trying to work out what NSFW means 🙂 . The pink abstract is fascinating. I agree about the creepy toddlers and tiaras, but have also to think there are far worse things happening to children all over the world, but don’t get me started! 😀

    1. hi fraggle! NSFW means “not safe for work”. it’s my way of alerting people to material they may find objectionable. 😛 and as for there being worse things happening to children, i think you make a fair point. in a lot of ways, i’m afraid that children today are no safer than those of yesteryear.

    1. aw, thank you, tati! actually, that’s a good question. i find abstract illustrations very difficult to do. it isn’t easy to simply trust that the idea will come across from a less direct application of lines and colour, and i’ve always had the tendency to overwork my art anyway. it’s a constant battle! 😛

  3. I lilke digging through your older work. Some impressive ideas here. This is profoundly disturbing and superb simultaneously, a sublime expression of the hideous.
